VP Micro Ultimate Low Latency  H.264 Micro-Mezzanine Module Family

The VP Micro family of micro-mezzanine modules is specifically optimized for low latency HD/SD industrial video applications. Examples are electronic newsgathering (ENG), surveillance, tele-robotics, telemedicine and industrial imaging.

Total latency including transmission links of less than one frame is achievable.  All modules have built in audio and power regulation.  This family is pin compatible and upgradeable with no or a simple hardware change.

VPM42XX Ultimate Low Latency  2 channel 1080P60 H.264 Micro-Mezzanine Modules (In development, Available Q32011)

The latest member of the VP Micro Family is the VPM42XX micro-mezzanine modules which encode and decodes 2 channels of HD video.  It has PCIe, Ethernet and MPEG2 TS transmission IO.  It is the first module available in industrial temperature.  Power is 4w or less.

Bahamas VPM32XX micro-mezzanine modules encode and decodes 2 channels of HD video.  Maximum computations is 1080P60

Encode and decode, encode and encode or decode and decode simultaneously two channels of 1080P30 or 720P60.  The module can encode or decode a single channel of 1080P60.  It allows a wide array of other resolutions also.  Audio and video PES is multiplexed into a DVB MPEG-2 Transport Stream, compliant with the ISO/IEC 13818-1 standard. DVB support includes 188 and 204 byte packet formats and DVB service information in compliance with ETSI EN 300 468.

The Caiman VPM32XX micro-mezzanine modules de-multiplex a DVB MPEG-2 TS into separate PCM encoded audio PES and H.264 encoded video PES. The audio and video streams are decoded for playback and display.

The Caiman VPM22XX family of micro-mezzanine modules is specifically optimized for low latency HD/SD industrial video applications. Examples are electronic newsgathering (ENG), surveillance, tele-robotics, telemedicine and industrial imaging.

The Caiman VPM22XX micro-mezzanine modules encode 1920×1088, 1280×720 HD and multiple other video in H.264 format. Stereo audio input is encoded in PCM format. Audio and video PES is multiplexed into a DVB MPEG-2 Transport Stream, compliant with the ISO/IEC 13818-1 standard. DVB support includes 188 and 204 byte packet formats and DVB service information in compliance with ETSI EN 300 468.

VP Micro guarantees sub frame-rate encode-decode latencies, the lowest in the industry.
The 8-bit TS interface on the encoder and the decoder modules allows for either DVB-ASI or DVB-SPI I/O. Other interfaces present on the modules include a SPI and a UART interface. These can be used for an external host processor to control, configure and monitor the modules.
